How To Fit A Mouth Guard
Mouth Guards are important to all martial arts and combat sports. Whether you are a Boxer, Nak Muay, Kickboxer, Mixed Martial Artist (MMA), Karateka, Judoka or Jiujitiero you need a mouth guard. Training to be the best has it's consequences. Protect your mouth, teeth and lips from the day to day bumps and bruises of training as well as the unexpected head butt. (Unless you do Lethwei, then you should expect it!)
- Boiling Water
- Bowl of Ice Water
- 1 Spoon
- 1 Pair of Scissors
Fitting The Mouth Guard
Wash Your Mouth Guard
Rinse off any factory elements or manufaturing chemicals.
Trim Your Mouth Guard
After rinsing off the mouth guard, place it into your mouth. If the mouth guard fits, proceed to the next step. If the mouth guard is too long, use the scissors to evenly trim the end of the mouth guard to fit.
Boil For 30 Seconds
Using a spoon, place the mouth guard in the a boiling pot of water.
Quickly Place The Mouth Guard In Ice Water
Submerge completely for approximately 5 seconds.
Bite Down Gently
While the mouth guard is still warm and malleble to imprint your teeth onto the mouth guard.
If you are unsatified with the fit of your mouth guard, repeat steps 3 - 5 until desired results are achieved.
