A rash guard is a skin tight, stretchy shirt, usually made of nylon, lycra or spandex. Rash guards come in long sleeve, short sleeve or no sleeves. For your legs, they are usually called leggings, tights or spats. Rash guards protect your skin from the roughness of gis, the friction from the mats and the nails of your training partner.
